Time for a Citizens’ Assembly in the Senate
With 25,000 signatures, our goal is greater public participation.
Our democracy is in decline. Citizens feel unheard, politicians are stuck in partisan logic, and trust is rapidly eroding. Everyone feels that things need to change, but how? Thanks to the debate on abolishing the Senate, Belgium has an incredible opportunity. Let’s seize this chance not to weaken our democracy, but to strengthen it instead!
We are currently working on an ambitious project: a permanent Citizens’ Assembly at the national level. In this assembly, randomly selected citizens put forward well-founded policy recommendations. Parliament must respond to these proposals and cannot simply ignore them. In this way, everyone gets the opportunity to help shape the decisions that affect our lives even after elections.

Word vrijwilliger. G1000 is ontstaan als burgerinitiatief. Samenwerken met vrijwilligers zit in het DNA van onze organisatie. Je kan ons op veel manieren helpen: vertaalwerk, websiteonderhoud, logistieke hulp bij evenementen, … Dat kan via oproep of op regelmatige basis. Neem contact met ons op en laat ons weten wat jij voor G1000 zou willen betekenen.
